The Jazz Lab

Created to learn jazz standards, and practice jazz improvisation with talented and dedicated musicians regularly.

The Jazz Lab was born of the desire to create a canvas for musicians who wanted to learn jazz standards and practice improvisation. It started in May 2020 with Cesare Borsari on guitar and myself, Enrique Llama, on clarinet and tenor sax. We have been meeting once a week ever since, and have already learned a few tunes. Most importantly, we started to improvise from the very beginning of our time together, making it an incredibly valuable experience.

Looking into the future, we want to continue with the process, eventually invite other musicians and students for sporadic practice sessions, as well as take trips to live jam sessions in the Berlin area.

Let´s make it all about the music.

After a few years learning the jazz language with the saxophone, my current project is to start performing live at jam sessions in the Berlin area and enriching my jazz vocabulary through constant transcribing as well as improvising in live settings.
